 
David B. Cohen M.D. is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who is fellowship-trained in shoulder, knee and elbow surgery, arthroscopy, and management of sports related injuries. Dr. Cohen graduated with honors from Dartmouth College and from the Brown University School of Medicine in the top 10% of his class. He completed both his residency and fellowship training at the Hospital for Special Surgery at Cornell University Medical Center, the number one ranked orthopaedic program in the United States (U.S. News and World Report.)
Dr. David Cohen is a partner at Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists, with offices throughout Connecticut. He has successfully treated numerous world-class professional athletes including players from the New York Giants and the New York Mets. He currently teaches and trains Yale Medical School orthopaedic residents, and lectures regularly at Quinnipiac University. He has been nationally recognized by the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine with the Excellence in Research Award for his work on rotator cuff injuries (awarded for the year's best sports medicine paper.)
Dr. Cohen’s research has been presented at national and international meetings, and his findings have influenced the way rotator cuff injuries are managed today. In addition, he has done further training in Zurich, Switzerland with internationally recognized shoulder surgeon Professor Christian Gerber. Dr. Cohen is the Head Team Physician for Quinnipiac University, the Yale University Rugby Team, and the Amity High School Football Team. |
